Missing Children Lily & Jack Sullivan Investigation
Update From RCMP
The missing persons investigation is being conducted by more than 11 Nova Scotia RCMP units, comprising the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit, Pictou County District RCMP, Digital Forensic Services, Truth Verification Section, Legal Application Support Team, Police Dog Services, Underwater Recovery Team, Behavioural Sciences Group, and the Criminal Analysis Service.
S/Sgt. Rob McCamon, Officer in Charge (acting), Major Crime and Behavioural Sciences said, “The investigation is being led by a tenacious, committed group of investigators who are gathering and assessing information daily to learn more about the circumstances of Lilly and Jack’s disappearance so we can find them.
All scenarios are being considered, and we’ve engaged every tool and resource at our disposal.”
With this support, investigators have obtained hundreds of hours of video footage from areas surrounding Lansdowne Station, which included footage from along Gairloch Rd. from between 12:00 p.m. on April 28th and 12:00 p.m. on May 2nd, which was after much public appeal to the investigative team. Investigators have also conducted formal interviews with 54 people. Investigators have also administered polygraph tests to some of the individuals interviewed, and have
received 488 tips, with many being evaluated and pursued. Search teams have conducted a thorough search of the property from where the children went missing, including a comprehensive examination of the home, grounds, outbuildings, and nearby septic systems, wells, mineshafts, and culverts. Investigators have also secured multiple judicial authorizations to seize and examine materials and devices that may yield valuable information for the investigation.
RCMP Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay stated, “The truth verification unit is engaged. There are multiple facets to these investigations, and the experts are examining every question and answer provided by those individuals, which could guide the investigation.” Police have declined to disclose the number of tests administered, the identities of those who took the tests, or the test results. “We must protect the anonymity of those individuals for the integrity of the investigation. For the same reasons, we cannot disclose how many people have or will be administered a polygraph test.”
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Lilly and Jack, or who has video footage to share with police, is asked to call the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime Unit at 902-896-5060.
